HMA Ka Lama Iki Principal, Mrs. Sarah Traczyk joined us on Sabbath, August 8 and informed the church that our elementary school was back in session. Every precaution is being taken to keep students and teachers safe amidst the growing number of COVID cases on Oahu. Social distancing, masks, face shields and a number of other safety measures have been implemented at the school.
"The most important thing to the teachers and staff is getting the kids back in the classroom, checking on their well-being and mental health," said Mrs. Traczyk. Being away from friends for such a long time can be trying for a young person, so opening schools safely has been a top priority for the Hawaii Conference Education Department.
